The Olympic flame will arrive in the UK tonight after its flight from Greece, to start the relay for the opening of the London 2012 Games. Read more at BBC News.

Train strike has been announced for all Regional lines on 20 May, starting midnight on the 19th until the morning of the 21st.

Portugal will loose 4 public holidays from 2013 in an attempt to increase productivity.

Currency

GBPEUR rates seems to have started their fall following a 3 ½ year high being reached, 1.25 was reached this week. Greece have confirmed another vote on 17 June, which will probably decide the future for Greece in the Eurozone and potentially the rest of Europe. Rates however are showing signs of falling back and I personally would not be surprised to see rates end next week even lower (more Euros to the Pound). Watch out for the GDP revision on Wednesday. Weather
The weather turns again from Saturday and there is a likelyhood of rain. The further north you are the more likely it is that you will have rain and for longer periods. In the south the weather improves from Tuesday but in Central and Northern parts, temperatures will remain in the high teens to low 20s.
