Gois Bike Festival 2010

The sleepy town of Góis, west of Coimbra onGois Poster Bike Festival the Ceira River roars in to life next weekend as it once again hosts the huge bike Festival that has come to be so popular in Central Portugal.

The event, titled  GÓIS Motorocker 2010 is the 17th annual gathering of the bikes, big and small and has become a significant alternative to the usual summer rock festivals.

The town is a feature in the Hey Portugal Magazine, which is on sale throughout Portugal in all good papelarias.

The event takes place over four days starting on Thursday 19th of August and winds up to a crescendo by Saturday night . Sunday is a day for rest, relaxation, reflection and also when the Moto Clube hand over money raised to worthy causes.

The main stage has 10 giant projection screens ensuring a high quality of entertainment.  The 2010 event has a huge variety of music styles covering hard rock, rap, traditional Portuguese music and more. Big names headline with bands  such as The Animals, the Rouxinol  Faduncho, the Boom and Xutos e Pontapés and more.

The opening night on the 19th is free  entry but the cost of the whole weekend is not costly with a full pass only costing €35 and this gives you an Official T-Shirt, dinner on Saturday, Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday, and embroidered sown on patch, a surprise gift and gois Bike 2010access to all the fair and music events. Price for day visitors is €12.

There is also a bike raffle with the draw taking place on Saturday night and there will be the obligatory fair with food stands and restaurants, clothing, and also some tattoo stands will be there for those of you feeling a little bold clubs and tattoos.

Another exciting feature of the event is the Electronic tent which is a giant space featuring animation and DJs. Located in front of the stage Sagres Zero, the DJs provide the best sound and adrenaline before and after the performances of main stage.

As well as the big bikes, the smaller models are also catered for by the Moto Clube.

There will be the 12th annual meeting of the “Mini-Honda” where these small and charismatic models of emotion will fill the streets of the region during their parade. During the afternoon of Saturday the smaller models can be seen in competition for the best model.

There will also be the 6th National Meeting of the bike on bridgeWasps. The prestigious Vespa models return to region in drones that will culminate in the election contest for the best model.

Finally to round things off, on the morning of Sunday, August 22, there will be a run for all riders which should prove to be rather spectacular.
