REACHING OUT TO THE BRITISH COMMUNITY AROUND OPORTO

Monday, 23 January – 18.30-20.30hrs

The British Consulate in Lisbon, with the help of other partner organisations, will be holding a series of talks in Oporto on 23 January aimed at raising the awareness of British nationals in this region, of the range of services available to members of the British community in Portugal.    

This event has been organised jointly by the British Consulate Lisbon, Anglo-Portuguese law office Neville de Rougemont and financial consultants Imperius Asset Management.  The talks will focus on a range of issues from what the Consulate can and cannot do for you, to pensions, wills and taxation issues.  The event will be held at Oporto Cricket and Lawn Tennis Club between 18.30-20.30hrs on Monday, 23 January and will be followed by a cocktail for all participants.

There will be 3 talks during the evening:

• Simona Demuro, Consul, British Consulate Lisbon – the role of the Consulate for British nationals who are residents or tourists. notarial and documentary services and other issues concerning British Nationals and the role of the Embassy in times of crisis.
• Matthew Krystman, Director, Imperius Asset Management – EU taxation and changes coming up. QROPS and taxation on pensions and how to choose private health insurance
• Geoffrey Graham, Managing Partner, Neville de Rougemont – wills and taxation.

Geoffrey Graham from Neville de Rougemont, commented that he is looking forward to meeting residents in Northern Portugal and hopes that they will find the talks both useful and informative.
